Six companies demoed their WebRTC-based technology at the summit that took place from March 31st – April 2nd 2014 in London. Of the top 3, Viblast’s was the only live streaming solution. Our use of the data channel to establish peer-to-peer (P2P) connections between over-the-top (OTT) viewers impressed with its advanced stage of development (ready for implementation) and the potential to solve some of the video industry’s pressing problems.
Apidaze took second place with their Widget4Call solution, an easy to install click-to-call component for websites. Quobis took third place with their Sippo WebRTC Application Controller, an interesting solution that enables easier deployment of WebRTC applications.
Viblast is an early adopter of WebRTC, having recognized the vast benefit of the data channel in removing the requirement of third-party plugins. It is thanks to this standard that Viblast creates P2P connections without the need to instal any plugin.
