This week our peer-assisted delivery solution Viblast PDN got nominated for Streaming Media’s 2015 European Readers Choice Awards. It appears in four categories: Best Streaming Innovation, Cloud Video Service, Delivery Network and Multiscreen Solution.

Our team is proud to present Viblast Player, the Flash-less, plugin-free solution that enables playback of adaptive HLS and DASH playlists in HTML5 browsers.
Viblast Player is one of the few solutions able to play adaptive-bitrate (ABR) streams without Flash or any other plugin in HTML5. Besides ABR playback, it handles encrypted HLS and DRM-protected DASH playlists. Viblast Player works with both live and on-demand video in modern browsers as well as Android and iOS mobile apps.

Merely a week after Akamaí’s acquisition of Octoshape, they are already demonstrating the new capabilities this deal unlocked for them at one of the biggest industry events, the NAB show in Las Vegas. We got asked a number of times about our take on the news, given that one of these new capabilities includes client-assisted video delivery solutions.
This weekend (April 11-12), Viblast will participate in TADHack-mini London, a hackathon that will focus on WebRTC, our favorite enabler-technology.
